Just a small post

I bought the Malabrigo Loafers pattern that I've been drooling over for a while, figuring I would get tons of use out of it. I've just about finished a pair to give to my mother for (a late) christmas present, all I really have left to do is weave in the ends. I had to cut the yarn using some nail clippers since I knit them while on a layover at work. I'm considering slightly felting them. They are quite big on me, and my moms feet are TINY. She wears a size 5, I wear about a size 7 and you can see how big they are on my feet.

I am attempting to knit a smaller pair on size 7's, but I've just finished one today and it's not too much smaller. I'll probably finish this darker blue pair, and then figure out which pair to give to my mother after my attempt to felt.

I ordered myself Knitting Classic Style with my 40% off coupon from Barnes & Noble and I can't wait for it to get here! I wanted to get Dream Toys too, but I didn't think I would get as much use out of it as Classic Style, and I'm trying to save money so I guess it's on my wish list until I've got more money. :)

I have two other knitting projects to post, but I can't until I go out to visit Julie next month since I knit them for her for Christmas. :)

Speaking of Christmas, Ronnie and I are getting ready to take down our little Charlie Brown tree my mom got us, so here's a picture of it almost nude! I hope everyone had a great holiday!

Long Time No Knit

I haven't had too much time to knit, but here's what I've got going on now.

I've made it to the 8th block on the Log Cabin. I've taken a little break from it. The tedium is killing me.

I knit these up really fast for the apartment. There is a few more pictures over at my Ravelry account. I still have over a half a ball of yarn left over so I'm debating on what else to knit up with it. I'll probably make some more washcloths, but I'm not sure which pattern to use yet.

Lastly I'm working on a little sweater for Pepito. I noticed when I moved most of my yarn here that I'm in dire of some stash busting so that's what I'm attempting to do. The acrylic (the white) is kind of driving me crazy, I've been using wool pretty consistently lately and this acrylic isn't very soft or nice to work with. I think it's looking pretty decent though.

I think I can I think I can I think I can

It took me about 2 days, and all 8 episodes of Gossip Girl + 4 episodes of Heroes that I've missed but now all I have left to knit on my Forecast is the sleeves! I'm so excited! Here's an in action shot I took:

I'm really quite bad at the backward loop cast on, so my button holes look a little sloppy...

I finally bought some white yarn to get back to work on the Log Cabin, so I suppose I'll finish that up before I start anything else, although the red Cascade I bought is really staring at me, begging me to knit something with it!

More Forecast

I've run out of white yarn for the log cabin, and I haven't been able to talk myself into going up to the store to get anymore, so I've been working on my Forecast this afternoon. I haven't made too much progress but Pepito did make a wonderful model of what's there so far. If you happen to be wondering, the black cord next to Pepito is my noise reduction headphones. I'm listening to Middlesex right now. Knitting + Audiobooks = Love

I added some pictures of my nĂ¼vi cozy to my flickr/ravelry account. I knit it up in one evening. I just kind of knit a strip, threw in some button holes and seamed it up. The buttons were on sale for 40% off at Joann's the other day so I had to take advantage of it.

Speaking of, here are the buttons I picked out for my Forecast. There were only 8 left so I will have to improvise with those.

Wooly Bullies

Erika sent this too me, and I've already made Joolz watch it, so here it is for anyone else who cares

The (mostly) Log Cabin post

So, I decided to break down and sign up for a blogger account so that I can properly comment on Julies, and also so that my Ravelry profile doesn't look weird and naked. I suppose I will just post knitting things here, although my knitting isn't very exciting so we will see how it goes. My everyday journal will continue to be here.

I've been working my buns off on the log cabin blanket. I still have about 2 and 3/4ths blocks to go but I realized last night that I've run out of the white yarn that I have been using. I could have sworn that I bought an extra ball when Joann's was having the 2 for 10 sale but I can't find it anywhere. So now I need to be off to the store to buy another one. I had a dream last night that I finished this thing, that's how badly I just want it to be done!

I bought two hanks of darkish red Cascade 220 to make a scarf for myself. It's already freezing here in good ole MI. I'm thinking of doing Shifting Sands.

Lastly, my Forecast is going well. I thought it was looking a little small, but it seems to fit me fine. I've been working on this while at work since it's now a lot more portable than the Log Cabin which was taking up my whole suitcase. Please don't mind the fact that I look like I was going to bed, because that's exactly what I was doing.
